The Daily Trend: Monday, March 23, 2026

Good morning… or close enough. A little late—so let’s start with a poem.

‘Principles and lessons’—

Love it—here’s your clean, simple version with your lines woven in:

The market jumped up 2.2% this morning.
Then it fell back to 0.88%, and now it’s around 1.13%.

Big moves can fool you, so we look at the big picture—
the forest, not the trees.

If you stare at the trees too long, you can lose the trail.
And the trail… is the trend.

So we stay calm and remember:
The trend is your friend.

 understand your chances’.

The Gambler’s Last Dance?

There once was a gambler who overslept late,
Woke to broken fences and losses on his plate.
The red came in fast, like a debt to be paid—
Then he remembered the lesson the old timers had made.

Trend is your friend, or so he’d been told,
So he managed his bankroll instead rather more careful than so bold.
Mend fences if yee must, but check first where it crakcs and not where it bends—
For the trend, more often than not… is still your friend.

So let’s asses the “The Daily Trend”:

The market jumped up 2.2% this morning.
Then it fell back to 0.88%, and now it’s around 1.13%.

Big moves can fool you, so we look at the big picture—
the forest, not the trees.

If you stare at the trees too long, you can lose the trail.
And the trail… is the trend.

So we stay calm and remember:

The trend is your friend.

The market has been drifting lower lately. It’s below the shorter-term line (50-day), but still near the longer-term line (200-day), which means things are weak—but not fully broken. In simple terms, the trend is shaky. Not strong, not crashing… just uncertain.

My positions are mostly set up for the market to go down, which matches the recent weakness. That part makes sense. But the market hasn’t fully rolled over yet, so those positions aren’t working big—just moving around a bit. A few holdings are doing well and helping balance things out, which is good.

Right now, this is a “yellow light” market. Not a clear go, not a full stop. It’s a time to stay patient, keep things simple, and let the trend prove itself.

The trend isn’t your enemy…but it’s not your best friend right now either.
